BlendzZ Olympic Single

Well, frankly, if you have made it this far, its probably our video that made you do it, and thanks for that!

Releasing this single was a concept initiated by Vinay. We didn't even know how to go about it! And yet, we manage to complete the skeleton recording in under 4 hours. Look at it the other way, we didn't have to compose a song, we just had to arrange it and structure it as per our idea.

Vande Mataram. Our National Song. There couldn't have been a more apt score to get out to our athlete-celebrities and wish them luck.

This compilation video features almost all the athletes who would be making it to the Olympics at London.

Enjoy the video, enjoy the music. Lets wish our athletes all the very best for the impending Olympics, 2012.

Special Thanks - Suchethan Rangaswamy, Ritwika Bhattacharya, Anil CJ, Karthik Rao for making this happen.

of Chances and Time

Mundane Serendipity. What a name it would have made! Before you start wondering if I've started preparing for GRE again, let me clarify that it was my initial idea to name the band. I must say I've been thankful ever since it was disapproved.

BlendzZ, it was meant to happen. I'm a strong believer of fate. I think we all are. If we aren't, then it makes sure we become.

It looks, (so far) like all this was meant to happen. The coming together, the bonding, the formation of the band, the jamming sessions, the support, everything. Just everything. As I'd mentioned in the previous post, the inception of the album was made in 2008. Plans were to release it before I headed to the US. But fate, chance and destiny decided to work now, 4 years later. The whole plan that we had, back then evolved, got influenced and changed too, to a considerable extent, that all of you would know soon.

Again, how long this association would last is a question that none of us can answer. Music has become integral in all our lives now, and will remain to do so. But, life has its own plans. What should happen will happen, you crib over it or not. So, all I can say with confidence is that this album will complete and release. God willing, there'll be more, there'll be tours and there'll be more fun. But all of it again becomes a matter of chance.

So for now, I'll restrain yet again from revealing details about track listing or credits. Keep watching this space (and all around too) :P

and the D-day comes close(r)

I understand this is not a regular blog, or so it appears.

Well, maybe I'm jittery to report progress. Being a strong follower of Murphy's laws maybe pushes me to not do a few things. I try and avoid being in such an awkward situation.

I guess (and hope) that updates would happen now, more often.

Well, hello to all the folks who took time to read this. Make sure your friends know about us. They better know now that we'll be known soon :P

About 6 years of the inception of the band. Band members came and went. But it stood all tests of time and geographic locations. Interests still remain the same. Idea and goals still remain the same. Only delay is with the execution of things, which, I feel is trivial compared to the driving force behind it.

I can now safely make a statement that we are coming out with an album. 6 years. Not many happening shows. Not many crazy fans. The thought of the album, as I recall was born as early as 2008. Neither did we have the resources nor the gear. Only thing that has continued to be with us is the love and support of well-wishers and friends.

Again, playing around, I'll not reveal much details about the album right away. I feel its all like making a movie sometimes. Maybe its more difficult than that, but the problem here in this country right now is the utter callousness with which music is seen. Its always 'music' that compliments the movie, 'background score' for a movie, 'item songs' for the mass, etc. There is a fraction of people who can really appreciate music, and I'm glad to know that that fraction is increasing in size. Can we all come together and actually support new and original music in today's times? With media being so strongly used, with social networking providing for ample support and publicity, with language barriers cutting across music in live concerts, I sincerely hope we do.

Let me keep the blog short for now. I'll just say the recording is happening, quite on a leash. Things will be made known to public when they are ready.

More soon.
